Responsibilities

• Assistswith the installation, operation, testing, and adjustment ofvarious typesof conventional or automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments.
• Fabricates andmodifiesparts to make or repair machine tools ormaintainindustrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
• Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
• Measures, examines, and tests completed unitsin order todetect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.

• Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Experience operating CNC Mills and/or Lathes.
• Basic understanding G&M Codes
• Knowledge of insert wear.
• Ability to change your own tooling (inserts)
• Ability to use machining measurement equipment (i.e. calipers, depth mics, etc.)
• Mathematical skills.
• Technical expertise.
• Manual dexterity.
• Physical Stamina.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Leadership skills.
