As an Ingalls Pipefitter, you play a critical role in building the complex piping systems that bring our nation's most advanced ships to life. From fuel and steam to hydraulics, ventilation, and climate systems, your craftsmanship ensures every vessel operates safely, reliably, and at peak performance.

What You Can Earn
• Earn up to $39.04 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do
• Fit and install piping systems made from materials such as steel, galvanized pipe, copper, copper‑nickel, and stainless steel.
• Install associated valves, fittings, and components in accordance with drawings, arrangements, and blueprints.
• Use a range of tools and equipment to ensure precision installation and proper alignment of piping systems.
• Work in a dynamic shipyard environment that includes heights, confined spaces, and variable weather conditions.
• Support production on multiple shifts as required to meet ship construction schedules.
• Uphold Ingalls' commitment to exceptional safety standards in every work environment.

What You Bring
• Proven, hands‑on pipefitting experience in complex industrial or shipyard environments
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and arrangements
• Proficiency in fitting and installing various piping materials and components
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork
Must Have
• Minimum 3+ years of pipefitting experience
• Basic math, reading, and comprehension skills
• Knowledge of layout, fit‑up, fabrication, and installation of pipe, flanges, and valves
• Ability to read and interpret trade drawings and/or blueprints using both metric and standard measurements
Nice to Have
• 6+ years of marine, shipbuilding, and construction experience
• Knowledge of setting and erecting units with proficiency in the use of datum lines
• Familiarity with fit‑up, alignment tolerances, and advanced blueprint‑reading skills
