Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and improve processes, equipment, and layouts with safety/ergonomics built in; partner with EHS for compliance.
- Use 80/20 principles to prioritize actions and turn needs into executable plans (process/layout/tooling).
- Drive simplification in work content, changeovers, routings, and material flow to reduce waste and variation.
- Implement and sustain Standard Work, Visual Management, and 5S to stabilize performance and expose abnormalities fast.
- Lead data-driven problem solving and cross-functional support for daily operations, NPI launches, and engineering changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain production routers, bills of process, and work center standards to support accurate planning and consistent execution.
- Create and manage engineering change orders (ECOs) to ensure timely, accurate implementation and traceability.
- Develop raw material requirements and partner with Supply Chain to improve availability and reduce expedites.
- Design and validate cost-effective packaging that protects product integrity and supports efficient material flow.
- Develop and implement fixtures/tooling (mechanical and/or electronic) using CAD-based systems; ensure safe operation and maintainability.
- Perform line balancing, manpower evaluations, and layout optimization to improve flow and labor efficiency.
- Document assembly methods, setup standards, and training aids to reinforce Standard Work and reduce variation.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional projects and kaizen events that improve SQDC performance and deliver measurable financial results.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field (or 2-year technical degree with relevant experience).
Experience:
- 3-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment (preferred).
Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, layout, and material flow principles.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings/specifications and translate requirements into robust manufacturing methods.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- CAD/design capability (Autodesk preferred; Vault a plus).

- Lean / Continuous Improvement training (Kaizen, value stream thinking, structured problem solving).
- Packaging design and testing experience.
- Experience implementing Standard Work, Visual Management, and 5S in manufacturing.
