Position Summary

The Quality Technical Coordinator conducts Quality Assurance Weld Inspections to ensure product conformance to regulatory and contractual requirements. This position is responsible for submitting all test reports and contractual documentation, ensuring that critical control measurements are taken and documented. This role will also assist in regulatory approval of welding Procedures, NDT tests, and product testing methods, ensuring annual tool and weld machine calibration is completed.

This is a first shift position, working Monday -- Thursday 6:00AM - 4:30PM

Domestic travel may be required.

Essential Functions
  • Conducts QA Inspections to ensure product conformance to regulator and contractual requirements
  • Directly communicates any deficiencies and proposed corrective actions
  • Perform product weld verifications including VT, UT, PT, RT, & Air Wand testing
  • Assist in the development of training programs to ensure compliance to customer contract requirements
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and tools
  • Basic knowledge and understanding in ISO 9001, data analysis, document control, and ERP systems
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of bar-coding systems
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills
  • Must have strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor
  • Must adhere to ISO and OSHA policies established by FMG and have high values for safety awareness


Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 2 Years of ­ experience required
  • CWI and Familiarity with Government and commercial inspection requirements and marine terminology is preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing job duties, the employee is frequently required to sit and occasionally stand or walk; use hands and arms to grasp, reach and type; stoop or kneel; and speak or hear. The position is primarily performed in a quiet, climate-controlled environment with minimal exposure to moving equipment, elements, or risk of injury. When entering the shipyard, there may be exposure to moving equipment, elements, or risk of injury.
