Job description
Summary:
This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of suppliers to ensure material availability and support operational continuity through proactive shortage management, cross-functional coordination, and supplier performance recovery. Leveraging Lean DNA, the position enables a data-driven approach to prioritizing and resolving supply chain risks. The role maintains strong control over execution-related cost. This position ensures disciplined execution and continuous improvement across the supply chain. Ultimately, enables prioritization of critical actions, and supports a shift from reactive issue management to proactive, performance-driven supply chain operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Manage assigned suppliers in excess of $4.5M yearly spend
• Convert requisitions into purchase orders (PR → PO execution)
• Monitor and manage MRP exception messages (reschedules, cancellations, shortages, pull forward) and action them
• Own shortage management:
o Identify risks early
o Drive mitigation plans
• Ensure on time delivery of parts ordered, via expediting and weekly delivery reviews with suppliers
• Provide forecasts quarterly to suppliers
• Actively participate within LeanDNA Portal and the Supplier Portal
• Track open orders and maintain ERP data accuracy
• Escalate supply risks appropriately that are identified with a supplier; financial, capacity, pricing
• Coordinate with engineering on:
o Engineering changes (ECOs)
o Deviations and concessions
• Manage quality events:
o Non-conformances
o RMAs
• Supplier corrective action follow-up for shipments missing critical paperwork
• Control and challenge:
o Expedite costs
o NRE costs (execution, not negotiation ownership)
• Participate actively in QRQC / Tier meetings
• Support and drive functional KPIs (OTD, shortages, backlog)
• Ensure pricing issues are escalated and kept on track for resolution with the purchasing team
• Compliance with all HSE and 6S Site requirements
