Production Technician

Position Summary:
A Production Technician is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient movement of materials and products throughout the facility. This role focuses on assembling, testing, shipping and receiving activities, material handling, ERP system transactions, and supporting production through various tasks including painting and operating all machine tools within plant. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable to perform a variety of duties that support overall operational efficiency. This candidate must be capable of setting up one of the three (3) types of machine tools. Can operate two (2) machines at same time. Work involves close tolerance. Performs work from drawings

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shipping & Receiving
    • Prepare, package, and ship products in accordance with customer requirements, company procedures, and applicable standards.
    • Receive incoming materials, verify quantities and quality, and update ERP system accordingly.
    • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation and records.
  • Material Handling
    • Safely move materials, components, and finished goods between departments using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other handling equipment.
    • Stage materials for production and maintain organized storage areas.
  • ERP Transactions
    • Perform all required material movements, inventory updates, and job transactions within the ERP system.
    • Ensure data accuracy to support inventory control and production planning.
  • Production Support
    • Apply paint and surface finishes to components as required.
  • o Operates all machine tools within plant to perform the following three (3) forms of work, Honing, Turning/Boring and Milling/Drilling (grinding as required) to support product finishing.
    • Inspect work to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.
  • General Duties
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
    • Assist in cycle counts, inventory audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support the operations team.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year Machine Operator experience preferred.
  • Experience in shipping/receiving or material handling within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification a plus).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and basic computer skills required.
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to learn and operate honing machines and painting equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
