Job Description

  • Wearing appropriate clothing and shoes for the job.
  • Use and inspect Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needed for the position; adhering to all company safety regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Meet the quality standards set by the company for welding and fabrication as directed by the supervisor, welding inspector, and QAQC manager.
  • Ability to understand and interpret drawings, layout specifications, sketches or verbal instructions to welding.
  • Ability to position, align, and fit complex structural fabricated parts preparatory to welding or bolting. (Sheet metal, plate, I-beams, piping, etc…)
  • Tacking and welding thin sheet metal, plate, I-beams, piping, made of iron, carbon steel, aluminum and stainless steel using MIG, TIG and Heliarc process
  • Tacking and welding thin aluminum and stainless steel using the TIG and Heliarc process.
  • Load material between machinery, baskets, racks, and pallets.
  • Operating various tools and equipment in accordance with company safety policies.
  • Cleaning tools, equipment and work area during allocated time, downtime or when instructed.
  • Immediately reporting all safety concerns, near misses, property damage, and injuries to appropriate management personnel.
  • Working 40 hours per week and overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Inspect your welds for integrity.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with safe work practices and safety procedures.
  • Prior experience welding MIG, Stick, etc… (Materials we work with: Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminum).

Qualifications

  • Experience in welding
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings
  • Ability to grind, bevel, and torch cut
  • Must possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and able to work a day, evening, or night shift
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening.
  • Regularly standing and walking throughout an 8-10 hour day.
  • Must be able to work in-shop, or outside in year-round temperatures and moderate weather conditions including rain.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects 50 pounds, or occasionally 75 pounds, while utilizing all proper lifting procedures and practices.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling.
  • Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment needed for the position.
