Position Summary
Hayes Pump is seeking a Service Repair Mechanic to join our growing service team in Massachusetts. This position is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy troubleshooting equipment, working with their hands, and developing technical skills.
Unlike our more senior service positions, this role offers opportunities for training and development. Candidates with pump experience are encouraged to apply, but individuals with strong mechanical backgrounds in maintenance, automotive, industrial equipment, plumbing, HVAC, or related trades will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of pumps and related equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment repairs in both shop and field environments.
- Learn pump diagnostics, repair procedures, and system troubleshooting techniques.
- Travel to customer sites to perform maintenance, service, and equipment evaluations.
- Complete service reports and documentation accurately.
- Participate in pump start-ups, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all company safety procedures.
- Represent Hayes Pump professionally when interacting with customers.
Required Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Experience working with mechanical equipment, machinery, motors, pumps, vehicles, or industrial systems.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in industrial environments.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic service documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pump repair or rotating equipment experience.
- Industrial maintenance experience.
- Automotive, HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical trade experience.
- Knowledge of electrical controls and motors.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Technical or trade school education.
Travel & Schedule
- Initial travel expectations of approximately 10-20%.
- Travel may increase as experience and responsibilities grow.
- Potential territory coverage throughout Massachusetts and surrounding areas.
- Company vehicle provided.
- Typical schedule begins at approximately 5:30 AM with standard working hours generally from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
