Job Description
- Wearing appropriate clothing and shoes for the job.
- Use and inspect Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needed for the position; adhering to all company safety regulations, policies and procedures.
- Meet the quality standards set by the company for fabrication and assembly as directed by the supervisor, welding inspector, and QAQC manager.
- Ability to understand and interpret drawings, layout specifications, sketches, and verbal instructions related to structural fabrication and assembly.
- Ability to position, align, fit, and assemble structural fabricated parts preparatory to welding or bolting. (Sheet metal, plate, I-beams, channels, angle iron, piping, and structural assemblies.)
- Measure, mark, and lay out material according to fabrication drawings and specifications.
- Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring instruments such as tape measures, squares, levels, calipers, and other precision tools.
- Assemble and tack components for final welding while ensuring proper fit-up and alignment.
- Operate fabrication equipment including grinders, drills, magnetic drills, cutting torches, and other hand and power tools.
- Load, unload, and move materials between machinery, workstations, baskets, racks, and pallets.
- Assist welders and other fabrication personnel as needed to ensure production goals are met.
- Clean tools, equipment, and work areas during allocated time, downtime, or when instructed.
- Immediately report all safety concerns, near misses, property damage, and injuries to appropriate management personnel.
- Work 40 hours per week and overtime as business needs dictate.
- Inspect completed fit-ups and assemblies to ensure compliance with drawings and quality requirements.

Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with safe work practices and safety procedures.
- Prior experience fitting structural steel, plate, and fabricated assemblies.
- Experience using measuring devices, layout tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication tolerances.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Structural Fitter required.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to perform layout work, fit-up, grinding, beveling, and torch cutting.
- Must possess a strong work ethic and be punctual
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening.
- Regularly stand and walk throughout an 8–10 hour workday.
- Must be able to work in-shop or outside in year-round temperatures and moderate weather conditions, including rain.
- Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, or occasionally 75 pounds, while utilizing proper lifting procedures and practices.
- Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, and kneeling.
- Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment required for the position.
