Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing processes to meet the quality standards and improve the manufacturing efficiency associated with mixer products as assigned. Identify, recommend, and implement solutions to quality or production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling. Key to the role is supporting projects to improve customer on-time delivery and operational efficiency by improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for developing and documenting the manufacturing process to ensure product conformance and maximize productivity for all production processes.
  • Develops and maintains manufacturing routings / processes that optimize safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Provide support / train shop floor associates and leaders to ensure understanding of part specifications, routings, procedures, and instructions.
  • Support Warranty Specialists, rep offices and customers related to remedying complaints and implement corrective action to prevent escape reoccurrence.
  • Ability to lead root cause investigation and corrective action activities.
  • Confer with Design Engineering concerning product design including drawing specifications, BOM structure to insure efficient production methods.
  • Design and establish tooling to support consistency in manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Responsible for improving and maintaining work centers and production master data accuracy within the ERP system.
  • Assures product and process quality by developing and implementing ITP's and testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Identify opportunities and run RPI and Kaizen events to lead change to improve processes or products for quality and cost improvements.
  • Establish the processes and routings to handle discrepant material, returned products (RMAs), and internal jobs to be reworked.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Contribute to vendor component qualification and corrective action to ensure purchased parts or components, in-process samples, and finished products meet established testing and inspection standards.
  • Approve engineering change orders (ECOs), process the changes, and ensure changes become effective.
  • Ensure compliance with established industry safety, design standards and guidelines.
  • Support ISO compliance and quality activities.
  • Perform engineering activities in compliance with established company and manufacturing standards, engineering principles, customer requirements, and related specifications.
  • May perform any other work-related functions as deemed necessary and appropriate by immediate supervisor, including quality related projects as directed.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Must be able to read/interpret/understand technical engineering drawings and symbols (i.e., Blueprints and GD&T)
  • Must have experience utilizing Auto-CAD software, project management skills/tools.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes such as welding, milling, and turning.
  • Must be able to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite and ERP programs (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, SAP etc.)
  • Root cause analysis and problem solving.
  • Must have strong interpersonal communications skills.
  • Decision Making Skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline and minimum of 5-years' experience in product/design or manufacturing/quality engineering (preferred) or minimum 10+ years' experience in product/design or manufacturing/quality engineering.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds. Use of the appropriate PPE is required.

This job operates in a manufacturing professional office environment. The employee can be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration and loud noise level while on the production floor.

Anticipated salary range for this position: $67,500/yr to $93,960/yr. The anticipated salary range is what we believe to be the likely base salary range for this position at the time of posting. Actual salary for this position will depend on relevant qualifications, skills, and experience
