What You Will Be Doing

As the NDT Engineer you will be responsible for supporting non‑destructive inspection across production, quality, sustainment, and engineering test initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide NDI support to production, quality, sustainment, and engineering test efforts

  • Perform NDI tests on airplane parts and components

  • Write NDI procedures with detailed drawings for inspections

  • Operate eddy current, ultrasonic, and dye‑penetrant equipment on aircraft parts

  • Conduct materials testing and failure analysis

Further Information About This Opportunity

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience/education with at least five years of experience performing eddy current testing.
- Willing to support extended and off shift work schedules and on-call requirements
- Willing and able to work in hazardous laboratory environments and with hazardous chemicals/materials and follow all Personal Protective Equipment and safety requirements
- Willing and able to work in a laboratory environment by themselves or with other team members
- Willing to travel in country and out of country to perform inspections on a periodic basis
- Willing to work in a confined space while performing inspections
- Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access
Desired Skills:
- Hands on experience with mechanical aptitude and interest in aircraft structures
- Willing to crawl around on aircraft and get your hands dirty
- Hands on experience performing ultrasonic and eddy current testingtesting.
- Familiar with reading and following MIL, ASTM, and proprietary specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
