Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a QA Technician to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 715. The starting wage for this position is $27.10 per hour.
*This position is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus. The first half ($500) is payable after successful completion of the orientation period and the second half ($500) is payable after one year of employment. *
The regularly scheduled hours for this position are 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime may become a possibility or even required. When working overtime, the regularly scheduled shift is adjusted by 1-2 hours at either the beginning or end of the regularly scheduled shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following:
• Work independently and efficiently in assigned areas.
• Read and interpret blueprints/drawings.
• Use measuring equipment pertinent to assigned areas.
• Able to use Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) (PdS only).
• Able to perform first and last piece inspections (PdS only).
• Knowledge and use of ERP system, MVWorks, Microsoft Office and gage tracking software.
• Knowledge and use of KwikTag and other office software, as assigned.
• Report Non-conformances and document.
• Conduct Tollgate Inspection at Machines and In-Process Inspections.
• Retrieve and dispense gages at Gage Room window (PdS only).
• Knowledge of calibration of measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of product and part numbers.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area in a prescribed manner.
• Monitor own work to ensure quality.
• Good communication and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
• Complete projects in a team environment.
• Look for ways to improve efficiency of inspection methods.
• Share knowledge with others to promote excellent quality practices.

Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability - Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities - Requires extreme attention to detail.
