PRINCIPAL MACHINIST - Machine Shop

Who We Are:

The Mechanical Fabrication Center includes the Machine Shop which creates precision machined components utilizing the equipment available. By joining our team, you will receive an additional $500.00 in your first paycheck (minus applicable taxes).

Objectives of this Role:

  • Produced precision machined parts from engineering data.
  • Be proficient with all aspects of the Machining craft and equipment and tooling required to accomplish complex machining tasks.
  • Work with very little or no technical oversight.
  • Provide guidance to junior staff in an effort to enhance their skill base and career development.
  • Knowledgeable about GD&T and blue print reading.


Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Produce parts with a very low scrap rate and maintain a record of very low non-conforming items.
  • Take initiative to engage with clients and establish a reputation of being the subject matter expert as it relates to the Precision Machining Craft.
  • Work well within a team environment.


Requirements:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 10-15 years: Precision machining activities.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.


Special Requirements:

Must be a U.S. person (i.e., U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) due to ITAR work in section.
