About the Role

We are seeking an NDT Radiographic Testing Inspector to join our growing quality team in Harbor Springs, Michigan. This position supports precision inspection of highly regulated components used in aerospace, aircraft engine, and energy-related applications.

This is a strong opportunity for both experienced NDT professionals and candidates who are interested in building a long-term technical career in aerospace inspection. We are hiring at multiple experience levels, from trainee through certified inspector.

Our facility operates under the NAS 410 aerospace standard, and we provide a structured path for qualified candidates to gain the required classroom training, on-the-job experience, testing, and certification support.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will support radiographic inspection activities in a controlled manufacturing environment. Responsibilities may include:
  • Perform or assist with radiographic testing of precision aerospace and industrial components.
  • Follow approved work instructions, inspection procedures, safety requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Interpret or assist with interpretation of radiographic images based on certification level and authorization.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain required records.
  • Support digital radiography processes and related inspection equipment.
  • Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Level III personnel.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, compliance, quality, and continuous improvement.

Training and Certification Path

Candidates without prior NAS 410 RT experience may begin as a trainee and progress through our internal qualification and certification process. Training may include:
  • Radiation safety training
  • Radiographic Testing Level I formal training
  • Radiographic Testing Level II formal training
  • Digital radiography formal training
  • Required on-the-job experience hours
  • Written, practical, and vision examinations
  • Ongoing mentorship from experienced NDT and Quality personnel

Trainees should expect to remain on first shift during the initial training and certification period. Depending on business needs, continued first-shift placement may be available; however, long-term assignment to second shift, third shift, or weekend shift may also be required.

What We're Looking For

We are interested in candidates with any of the following backgrounds:
  • Prior NDT experience in Radiographic Testing, Digital Radiography, Film RT, CR, DR, or related inspection methods
  • Current or previous certification under NAS 410
  • NDT certification or documented training under SNT-TC-1A, CP-189, military NDI/NDT programs, or other recognized standards
  • Aerospace, manufacturing, machining, inspection, quality, or technical trade experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate documentation
  • Willingness to complete classroom training, OJT requirements, and certification exams
  • Commitment to radiation safety, quality, and compliance requirements

Preferred Qualifications
  • NAS 410 RT Level I, Level II, or equivalent documented training and experience
  • Digital Radiography experience
  • Aerospace or aircraft engine component inspection experience
  • Familiarity with controlled manufacturing environments
  • Experience reading work instructions, inspection plans, technical specifications, or quality documentation

Work Environment

This position is based on-site in Harbor Springs, Michigan. The role requires working in a manufacturing and inspection environment and following all safety, quality, radiation safety, and export-control requirements.

Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be able to comply with applicable company, customer, and regulatory requirements, including access controls related to export-controlled information.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience, certification level, documented training, and shift assignment.
