RMB Products is seeking a Plastics Welder & Fabricator (High Purity) responsible for fabricating thermoplastic components and assemblies using engineering drawings, measurement tools, hand tools, and fabrication equipment. This position requires a strong focus on quality, safety, and productivity while ensuring all products meet RMB and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, bills of materials, specifications, and work instructions to fabricate quality products that meet customer and industry standards.
  • Operate and utilize measurement tools such as calipers, pi tapes, height gauges, scales, rulers, and templates to fabricate components and assemblies.
  • Perform thermoplastic welding using hot air and fusion welding techniques while producing strong, clean welds that meet customer and quality requirements.
  • Utilize shop equipment including welders, torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and other fabrication tools as required.
  • Mix cleaning solutions and perform product cleaning activities when necessary.
  • Test and inspect completed welds and fabricated products to ensure strength, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
  • Perform quality checks and measurements throughout the fabrication process.
  • Maintain welding equipment through preventive maintenance practices and troubleshoot minor equipment issues as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and other productivity and quality improvement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, customer specifications, and RMB procedures.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve quality, productivity, delivery performance, and overall efficiency.

Qualifications

Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience
  • 0-2 years of relevant fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or related experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and shop orders.
  • Basic understanding of fabrication and welding processes.
  • Proficient with measurement tools, hand tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Basic computer skills required to process work orders, access electronic documents, and record production data.
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Willingness to obtain certifications such as forklift, overhead crane, and welding certifications as required.
  • Flexible and team-oriented attitude with a willingness to support additional duties within the scope of the position.
  • Commitment to safety and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and repetitive motion.
  • Occasional sitting and computer work.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes (training/certification provided as required).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and assist with team lifts exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
