Position Summary

In this role, the Welder / Brazer/ Assembler
will support our Magnetics and Machinery departments by performing precision welding and mechanical assembly. You will work directly with technical drawings to fabricate high-quality components, playing a critical role in our electronics manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team to meet production deadlines. Given the complex nature of the products, there will be significant hands-on training and interaction with various Magna-Power teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welding: Perform TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on steel according to print and project specifications.
  • Brazing: Perform precision brazing operations to join metal components, ensuring strong, clean joints according to technical drawings and project specifications.
  • Fabrication & Assembly: Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components and products. Prepare materials by cutting, fitting, cleaning, and aligning parts prior to welding.
  • Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to ensure components are aligned and assembled correctly.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate fabrication equipment, including saws, crimpers, winders, grinders, and other various cutting tools.
  • Quality Control: Identify faulty components and inspect welded surfaces to ensure they meet our high quality standards.
  • Operational Efficiency: Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workspace. Complete all necessary production paperwork and record keeping accurately.
  • Brazing: Perform precision brazing operations to join metal components, ensuring strong, clean joints according to technical drawings and project specifications.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members to manage equipment, resources, and project timelines.


Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in GTAW (TIG) welding,. Must be able to pass a TIG welding test.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong mechanical aptitude using hand and power tools and the ability to read and understand complex technical blueprints and schematics.
  • Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity, particularly when working with small instruments and precision components.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Experience working in a production or assembly environment. Knowledge and understanding of BOMs, assembly drawings and other related manufacturing documents is preferred
  • Reliability: Strong time management skills with a consistent track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and sit for extended periods, and consistently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Logistics: Must have reliable transportation.


Preferred Skills (Plus)
  • Experience with soldering or brazing.
  • Previous experience in equipment maintenance or troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with building or structure codes.
