Sr. Quality Technician

Job Description:
Assist in coordinating Quality Assurance functions throughout the value stream management system. Work closely with Production, Engineering, Customers and Suppliers to reduce waste and eliminate process/product issues. Implement quality assurance procedures, policies, systems and methods to assure all Customer Specific requirements are being met. A candidate with an Automotive Quality Background and previous exposure to TS16949 Standards would be strongly preferred.
Core Responsibilities:
• Serve as the QA representative in the APQP process in regards to team activities developing, and maintaining Process Flow, PFMEA and the Control Plan Documentation.
• Preparation, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Control work instructions.
• Maintain reporting and disposal procedures for RMA scrap material.
• Champion continuous improvements by organizing Root Cause Analysis and problem solving activities for corrective actions, (internal and external)
• Assist with internal and external PPAP preparations and submissions
• Serve as Customer Quality Interface for Customers and Suppliers
• Perform internal quality audits to ensure compliance and meet industry standards and develop reports based on inspection and audit results
• Partner with the Purchasing Department on supplier qualification, scorecard measures and audits
• Work from blueprints and specification sheets using instruments such as micrometer, digital calipers, digital indicators, depth gauges, plug gauges, microscope, etc.
• Assist with the continuous improvement process and quality systems through development and training of all relevant people in the organization
• Owner of Calibration Process
• Insure a safe work environment is maintained, appropriate safety systems/processes are utilized, and insure compliance with all OSHA and other state/federal safety and environmental related rules and regulations
• Provide a clean and organized work environment through 6-S controls.
• Other duties as assigned
• Help drive safety and PPE procedures/policies.
• Ensure that all ITW guidelines are followed and safety work practices are enforced.
• Follows all procedures as outlined by ISO 9001, OSHA and IATF 16949.
• Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in QE or closely related field or 3-5 years of quality experience
• Good understanding of TS16949 Quality Standards
• Prior experience with Root Cause analysis and Corrective and Preventive actions including, but not limited to, 8-D, 5 Why, Is/Is Not
• Knowledge of GD&T and an understanding of CPK
• Effective and professional communication skills
• Ability to work independently, and proactively
• Excellent computer skills including, but not limited to: Microsoft Windows, Office, Visio, Project, Access, etc
• Experience with PPAP, Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan
• Automotive background strongly preferred. Plastics Experience a plus
