Summary: The Pipefitter is responsible for layout and fabrication, assembly, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of piping/ plumbing systems, fixtures and equipment. These include but are not limited to steam, water, heating, cooling, lubricating and related systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Responsibilities include hydraulic & pneumatic systems and components.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork, machine documentation and preventative maintenance records.
  • Assists other maintenance team members in meeting department requirements while serving as a resource to production, engineering and other plant personnel.
  • The qualified candidate will be interpreting specifications, blueprints, manufacturers' manuals, sketches, and/or similar documents.
  • Plan pipe system layout, installation, and repair according to industry standard and specifications.
  • Cut, thread pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
  • Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications, by threading joints.
  • Troubleshoot complex systems with and without the assistance of engineering documentation.
  • Must be able to use all types of hand and power tools and supply own set of tools of the trade.

Education and/or Experience

Highschool Diploma or Equivalent (GED), 3+ years previous manufacturing experience, Journeyman's Card is preferred.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
