Position Overview

Carr Lane Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Manual Mill & Lathe Machinist to join our growing team. In this hands-on role, you will manufacture precision components using manual machining equipment while maintaining the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and safety.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist who enjoys working with precision tools, interpreting blueprints, and producing quality parts that support customers around the world.

Key Responsibilities

Precision Machining

  • Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining equipment.
  • Produce precision components to standard and custom tolerances.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accuracy.
  • Select appropriate tooling, cutting methods, and machining techniques to achieve optimal results.


Quality & Inspection

  • Perform in-process inspections throughout production and assembly.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions and specifications.
  • Ensure finished products meet quality requirements and customer expectations.
  • Test assembled components to confirm proper fit, function, and performance.


Team & Workplace Excellence

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support production goals by assisting with department needs as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve efficiency, quality, and workflow.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience operating manual machining equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Dependable, safety-focused, and capable of meeting production deadlines.
  • Experience operating a Bridgeport is preferred


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform physical activities associated with manufacturing environments.
  • Close visual acuity for inspection and precision measurement tasks.
  • Ability to work around machinery, oils, moderate noise levels, and other manufacturing conditions.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds.
