Watteredge is looking for a motivated CNC Operator to join our growing Machine Shop team in Avon Lake, Ohio. If you have 1–3 years of CNC machining experience and enjoy working with precision equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.
In this role, you'll set up and operate CNC machines, produce high-quality components, inspect finished parts, and work alongside experienced machinists and engineers to continuously improve our manufacturing processes.
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and grinders to manufacture precision parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and production documentation.
- Perform machine setups, change fixtures and tooling, and adjust tooling offsets.
- Understand and edit G-Code and M-Code to optimize speeds and feeds when needed.
- Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
- Maintain tight tolerances while meeting quality and production expectations.
- Work with engineers and supervisors to troubleshoot machining issues and improve processes.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating CNC mills, lathes, or grinders.
- Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing documentation.
- Basic understanding of machining practices, tooling, fixturing, and offsets.
- Mechanical aptitude and solid math skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and reaching.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
