SAIC is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor in Middletown, RI. This role is responsible for overseeing the QA / QC team and ensuring the organization's products, services, and processes meet the required quality standards and comply with industry, regulatory, and company guidelines. This role involves managing the ISO 9001 quality control processes, coordinating inspections, providing leadership for compliance initiatives, and driving consistent quality improvement.
The ideal candidate has experience developing and implementing quality processes, strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and a leadership mindset to mentor and manage staff effectively while ensuring exceptional quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality assurance policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality products/services.
- Supervise daily operations of the QC / QA team to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards.
- Lead effort to develop quality plans for procurement and product materials and assemblies
- Lead efforts to investigate and resolve quality-related issues or non-conformities including customer complaint process.
- Train, mentor, and support quality and production team members and ensure processes are understood and followed.
- Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and conduct performance reviews as required.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and resources to meet production and quality demands.
- Oversee and conduct inspections, testing, and analysis of materials, processes, and finished products to ensure alignment with quality standards.
- Continuously validate process control points and review quality metrics for improvement opportunities.
- Approve, review, and maintain accurate documentation of quality inspections, results, and corrective actions.
- Identify and implement process and quality control improvements to drive operational excellence.
- Perform root cause analysis for defects and establish effective corrective and preventive measures.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, procurement, and other departments to advance company objectives.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable industry-specific quality and safety regulations.
- Monitor changes to regulations and update processes, policies, and staff training as needed.
- Manage internal and external audits and ensure findings or corrective actions are tracked and completed in a timely manner.
- Develop, maintain, and publish quality metrics, reports, and dashboards to stakeholders and leadership.
- Maintain organized records of quality assurance documents, equipment calibrations, and compliance certifications.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience; experience accepted in lieu of degree.
- Must have the ability to obtain SECRET clearance.
- Proven experience in quality assurance roles; supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Familiarity with industry-specific standards and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean, etc.).
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and quality management software (e.g., QMS platforms).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Combination of office and [factory/manufacturing floor/laboratory] environments; may require some travel to vendor or customer sites.
- Ability to work extended hours or shifts as needed to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or equivalent.
- 5 Years or more Experience with quality assurance in manufacturing / fabrication environment.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis tools and techniques.
