Louis Allis is growing, and we're looking for experienced Electric Motor Mechanics / Industrial Motor Technicians to join our team.
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys mechanical work, troubleshooting, precision measurement, and seeing a repair through from teardown to final testing.
You'll work on industrial electric motors in a clean, team-oriented shop with the equipment and support needed to do quality work.
Electric motor experience is preferred. [Strong industrial mechanical experience will also be considered, and we can train the right candidate on motor-specific processes.]

You'll work on industrial electric motors in a clean, team-oriented shop with the equipment and support needed to do quality work.

What You'll Do
You'll be involved in the complete electric motor repair process, including:
- Disassemble and inspect industrial electric motors
- Determine repair needs and help identify causes of failure
- Measure bearing fits and other machined surfaces using micrometers and calipers
- Assemble new and repaired electric motors
- Dynamically balance rotors
- Perform winding and insulation testing
- Take vibration readings and perform laser alignments
- Perform final run testing on completed motors
- Document inspection results, measurements, and completed work
- Assist with fabrication and TIG welding as needed
- Prepare and paint completed motors
- Assist with field service at customer locations when needed
- Work with other members of the shop to complete repairs safely and on schedule
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on industrial experience
- Experience assembling and disassembling mechanical equipment
- Ability to accurately use micrometers, calipers, and other measuring equipment
- Electric motor repair experience is a strong plus
- Experience with balancing, vibration analysis, alignment, welding, or electrical testing is a plus
- Ability to work safely around large industrial equipment
- Willingness to occasionally work overtime or weekends when needed
- Willingness to occasionally travel to customer locations for field service
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area
